ARDA // PUBLICCharter and Directive
Mandate
Corporate charter, mission, scope of operations, and founding directive.
Mission
On record: The Advanced Resonance Development Agency (ARDA) was established in 1955 to research, contain, and — where possible — apply liminal-field phenomena discovered on the Washington Olympic Peninsula.
Internal memo: Our charter is not pure science. Partner agencies expect operational utility: mapping, containment architecture, personnel protection, and denial of uncontrolled civilian exposure.
Scope of operations
- Research — LIM systems, Remnant behavior, anomaly taxonomies.
- Cartography — Deep, Mid, and Outer Zone boundaries as they expand.
- Field operations — instrumented sorties, sample recovery, driver support (historical).
- Containment — bunkers, isolation protocols, sealed-perimeter doctrine post-1987 planning.
- Communications — liminal signal research; largely experimental.
Founding directive (fictional 1947 root)
Directive OLYMPIA-47 (reconstructed)
Pursuant to cooperative research between federal laboratories and civilian specialists in Clallam County, development of LIM apparatus shall proceed under strict classification. Public explanation, if required: forestry and weather research.
ARDA proper was stood up in 1955 when the first DEEP ZONE boundary was carved around western Clallam County near Forks.
